Today marks 16 years of Siel Bleu Ireland. Since our establishment in 2010, we have continued to grow our work across Ireland. We create opportunities for people to experience the benefits of adapted physical activity.
Over the past 16 years, our programmes have grown from small beginnings into a nationwide network. We now reach thousands of people each week, helping people stay active, independent and connected.
From Small Beginnings
Siel Bleu Ireland was established in 2010. Our first programmes supported 45 participants across three nursing homes.
Since then, our work has continued to grow. Today, we deliver adapted physical activity programmes in communities, nursing homes and day centres.
Through Siel Bleu at Home, we also bring movement directly into people’s homes through our online classes.
Our programmes now reach people across 24 counties. This helps make movement accessible to more people throughout Ireland.
Movement for Better Health
Our mission has remained the same throughout our 16 years. We use adapted physical activity to support better health and wellbeing.
Our programmes can help people improve their strength, mobility and balance. They can also support independence and provide opportunities to enjoy the physical, social and psychological benefits of staying active.
Today, approximately 12,000 people take part in Siel Bleu programmes every week. This highlights the importance of accessible movement in communities across Ireland.
The People Behind the Journey
People are at the heart of everything we do at Siel Bleu Ireland.
Our participants, Physical Trainers, team, partners and supporters have all played an important role in our journey. Their contribution has helped Siel Bleu Ireland grow and reach more people over the past 16 years.
Together, they have helped us reach more communities and deliver thousands of sessions. Most importantly, they have helped create opportunities for people to stay active, connected and independent.
Looking to the Future
As we mark 16 years, we are proud of everything that has been achieved so far. We are also looking forward to the future.
We will continue to create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to experience the benefits of movement. We will also continue supporting healthier, more active and connected communities across Ireland.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Siel Bleu Ireland journey over the past 16 years.
We look forward to continuing to move for better health together.
